Update

So it's been a while since I've blogged about specific topics that have been going on so here's a brief summary on all the chaos and love in our home.

Along with an awesome tan from the Summer, William developed a little ear infection. It's crazy that all of a sudden he has one, it's been a long while, especially since he has tubes in his ears. But I guess when you spend almost everyday in the pool, it was bound to happen. So after several trips to the pediatrician, she finally recommended we visit an ENT. His right tube naturally fell out and was in his ear canal which they took out and gave to me. Believe me, I looked at the doctor and in my head was thinking 'what the heck am I going to do with this'? Well the brilliant doctor suggested William put it under his pillow for the Tube Fairy and he will get money. The doctor continued telling William this story that the Tube Fairy is the sister of the Tooth Fairy. So what does a typical 4 year old do when a possible fairy/money situation comes up...doesn't stop talking about it!! So William put his tube (in a zip lock bag) under his pillow awaiting the Tube Fairy's arrival. She left him 4 bucks!! I know, Chris and I are such suckers! The next speed bump is the left ear that still has the tube in it. He will have a tiny procedure to remove it and patch the hole, all this will take place in January.

So in addition to all of William's ear drama I made sure that before we left the doctor he was able to hear. Turns out medically he can hear just fine...so what is up with all this rebellion? William has come into age 4 blazing!! This kid is head strong and determined to do things his way. I guess I'm to blame for this behavior, I am a bit hard headed at times. But I never thought in a million years I would have this much trouble disciplining my child. He seemed near effortless up to this point. Anything he threw at me I was able to handle...but all of a sudden I'm thrown for a loop. He has been coloring on the walls, talking back, throwing tantrums, and acting out in pre-k. Basically being the star in his own one man show. He just has to be the center of attention. Definitely not the best behavior, but very typical for his age. Believe me, it is not as bad as it sounds. I was just getting into a solid groove with him...guess I have to change my game plan again.
