Lysol
Recently William has been getting over the fabulous "pink-eye". Needless to say we have the house under quarantine and the Lysol and hand sanitizer are everywhere. Chris happen to leave a Lysol can within reaching distance of William. While William was upstairs playing I noticed how quiet he was, he came down with the Lysol can and it just occurred to me, what has been going on upstairs? His bedspread had wet spots all over it, his clothes were wet and there were patches of wet spots on the carpet, at least everything was clean. He said his room was dirty and he cleaned it for me...ahhh my sweet boy.

Weekend Fun
This weekend was awesome. After some horrible weather last week it was nice to have a beautiful weekend. We spent most of it outside and at the park. We found this pretty trail and went for a walk. Chris is still moving a bit slow after his knee surgery last week, but he's doing much better and tried his best to keep up with us.
Here is some of the hail we had last week.

On our way to my parent's house on Sunday we passed by a bunch of classic cars and decided to take a look. William got extremely excited because he said these were his friends from the movie Cars.
This is that "Crazy Old Woman" Lizzy
Spring Fever
Spring is definitely in the air. The weather is finally cooperating and Austin is so gorgeous when the seasons change. Today William and I had a little nature education. We found bees pollinating and two lady bugs...well um procreating. According to William one of them was getting a piggy back ride. I told him the bees were helping the flowers just like Bee Movie and he understood, well the best a 3 year old could understand. I just love his innocence and curiosity!

Spring Break
Spring Break was absolutely beautiful in Austin. The weather couldn't be more perfect. We tried to spend as much time outside as possible. Parks, bike riding, you name it we did it. We even enjoyed some free entertainment at a kid friendly SXSW show at Auditorium Shores. William had a blast rocking out to Astrograss, Biscuit Brothers, Joe McDermott and many more. We even got a compliment from someone sitting near by saying that if there was an air guitar contest William would win! We had a blast!
Just like his Daddy
William is such a little copy cat when it comes to Chris. Whatever Chris does, William has to do it too. Last week Chris was washing his truck and William had to do the same. This isn't the first time he decided to "detail" his Little Tikes car. I just think it's adorable how he wants to be just like his Daddy, I love his boots too!

Potty Victory
It's official, William is potty trained...can I get a choo choo!!! I didn't want to jinx anything and really wanted to see how the weeks played out. After my birthday I decided, no more pull-ups, no more diapers. We are still doing pull-ups for bedtime and I don't see that going away anytime soon. (That's another issue, are there any pull-ups out there that actually work for night time? I use pampers night time but they still leak.) I knew he could do it, he was doing awesome in school, at home was the challenge. But he's going all by himself and I hardly have to ask him and it's no longer a battle. I've also phased out the potty basket. We where going broke trying to bribe him. I'm just so excited, this is a huge milestone!!

Poor Old Roxy
Poor Roxy has had a run of bad luck lately. She hurt her hind knee a few months ago and recently she's had this infection on her front paw. Needless to say, walking is extremely difficult for her...especially stairs. It's a good thing we live in a 3 story town home right? Chris has been carrying her up and down the stairs. Keep in mind she's 100 pounds. He couldn't take it anymore so Roxy spent a few days with her Uncle Christian to get some rest and give Chris' knees a break. She's back home and doing much better. She even has a new accessory...a beautiful blue satellite dish. It's so hard to see her in this shape...she's getting so old.

Rainy Days
We have had horrible weather the past week in Austin. It's been rainy and cold, never a good combination especially when you have a 3 year old that is running around all over the place. Got to love that Texas weather, it's going to be 80 degrees the rest of the week...go figure. I tried my best to keep William occupied. I made a few games using my good ole imagination. We also tried to play Operation. That was hilarious...William had no concept of the flashing red nose and thought it was funny when he set it off. I guess the box said ages 6 and up for a reason.
On Saturday we got out of the house and went to William's favorite jump house. He of course had a blast and it seems we can never stay there long enough.
Today we went to church and afterwards decided to stop by this creek off 360 to take some pictures. The weather was still yucky but we had to do something. I'm looking forward to a sunny week. Spring is in the air and I can't wait to enjoy every bit of it.

Baby Shower and Houston
This weekend was the baby shower for a close friend in Katy. I was only going to stay Friday night but Chris said I deserved a nice, long, relaxing, child-free weekend with my friends. He's so awesome!! I got an early start and got into Katy to help out with what ever I could for the baby shower. Like always when we get together there is always some type of adventure. After food prep came the cocktails. It was just Deidra, Tracy and I completely husband-less and we were enjoying our girl time when all of a sudden Tracy spotted a snake in the corner of her eye. After a ton of screams (a few tears) and jumping on the couch, we contained the "BEAST" in the hall closet. It was just our luck, the one time the husbands are not with us a snake finds it's way in the house. So what do 3 girls screaming on a couch do when a snake is in the closet? We called a guy to help us out! Thankfully after 20 minutes or so of searching (that closet was a black hole for blankets) he found the snake and "took care of it". Needless to say, the rest of the night we were on pins and needles, and I slept with one eye open. The next day was the baby shower. It was awesome seeing all the ladies and new babies!! I swear, give us the time and we could talk forever!! It was great seeing everyone! Once I get pictures I'll post them!

Cool Story
I usually don't blog about random stories, it's mainly about William; but I just thought this was so cool.
On Saturday Chris and I along with William were on our way to my parents for the day and stopped off at Chickfila for lunch. We noticed two men with a flat tire when we drove in and they seemed to be having trouble when we pulled out so Chris stopped to help. It turns out that they were missing part of their jack. Chris tried to use his jack but they needed the part to loosen the lug nuts. For the record, I have never changed a tire in my life so I have no idea where to begin. But Chris is like that dad from A Christmas Story, he loves to see how fast he can do it. It's pretty much the only thing he loves to do real fast! Well anyway, we ended up driving this man and his friend to his house in Lakeway so they can pick up another car and do what they needed to do to get the tire fixed. Apparently he forgot his jack in our car and today his wife met me to pick it up. The reason he left his jack in the car is because he had a brain aneurysm 2 years ago and has absolutely no short term memory. My heart was breaking when she told me this story and then she gave me an envelope for helping. I didn't want to except it, I told her we were Christians and loved doing what we can to help. She insisted and inside was a gift card to a Hawaiian cuisine restaurant....and here is the weird part. I just got done telling Chris how I'd love to go back to Hawaii. I know it's not the same but maybe this is God's way of bringing Hawaii to me!!!

Lets Go Fly a Kite
Sunday was the annual Kite Festival in Zilker Park. Can you believe, Chris and I have not been to Zilker since we've been in Austin? I have no idea why, but we just never made our way there. Sunday was another beautiful day and kites were everywhere. The wind was blowing off and on and when it was blowing the sky was full of kites. I don't know what happened, but we were unable to get our kite in the air. I bought this kite from Costco and Chris was afraid it would take forever to put together. Actually it was the easiest kite to assemble...and disassemble. But it would not fly!! Chris said I was doing something wrong....I plead the 5th. Aside from walking around with a kite that would not fly, we enjoyed the day. William loved seeing all the other kites and he got his face painted and we ate snow cones on the way home! It was the perfect family Sunday fun-day!
My little tree-hugger!
I just thought this was so funny.
There where kites everywhere!
This looks safe...
He was so patient.
ROAR!!
My sleepy lion!
(Got to love that drool)

Beautiful Saturday
Saturday was a beautiful day and we took full advantage and spent the day with Nanny and Pappa!! William loves to hit golf balls pretty much all day long. For some reason he decided to be a little dare devil and hopped in the bed of his tonka truck and roll down the hill. He couldn't get enough of it. He'd roll down the hill then push his truck back up and do it over and over again. We were cracking up! We also practiced soccer. He's signed up to play at the "Y" in a month and we wanted to go over some basics. I have a feeling a few penalties will be called. William constantly picks up the ball and runs with it...maybe I should have signed him up for football. But he does have a good kick (lefty I might add) and loves to say GOAAAAL! We couldn't resist teaching him that!
